Reginald SheffieldReginald Sheffield (1901-1957), whose real name was Matthew Reginald Sheffield Cassan, acted under the name Reggie Sheffield and was discovered by the famous British film producer and director Cecil Hepworth. After appearing in more than 23 British films he moved to Hollywood where he acted with all the big names of the time including Errol Flynn, Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Burt Lancaster and Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. Reginald’s eldest son Jon Matthew (Johnny) made his stage debut at the age of seven. He was spotted by a Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer talent scout and whisked off to Hollywood to become a world favourite as Boy in “Tarzan Finds a Son” which starred Johnny Weissmuller. He played the part of Boy in a number of more films until he outgrew the part. |
